Question: Hi, I heard that you can't get a job unless your degree is accredited, is this true?
Answer: While it's not impossible to gain employment without accreditation, you will be hard-pressed to find that opportunity. You should have no problem finding an accredited "brick-and-mortar" school but you have to be a bit more careful when it comes to online schools. Your best bet is to check to see if the federal government is backing student loans from them. You can also get more information from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
Question: How do I tell if my school has a good track record?
Answer: One of the best ways to find out if your school is of quality is to do a search of them on Ripoff Report or Consumer Reviews. You will be able to find student complaints. Please remember that anyone can post on these sites and it's expected that not everyone will have a good experience. But if you see a lot of reports then that's a red flag that you may want to avoid that school.
